Les Caprices du Sexe by Luc Lafnet
A portfolio of twelve engravings by Luc Lafnet (1899-1939) for the book Les Caprices du Sexe by Louise Dormienne.
Lucien Lafnet was born and trained as an artist in Lieges, Belgium. He won second prize at the Prix de Rome when he was just eighteen, and held his first exhibition the following year. In 1920 he moved to Paris, where he quickly established himself as an artist and engraver.
By 1927, Lafnet had been discovered by several Parisian erotica publishers. He used a variety of pseudonyms, including ‘Jim Black’, ‘Viset’, ‘O. Lucas’, ‘Pol’, ‘Grim’, and ‘Luc’ for his erotic work.
