Mémoires d’une Chanteuse — A Portfolio of Illustrations
Pauline the Prima Donna or Memoirs of an Opera Singer is reputed to be the autobiographical sexual memoirs of the German soprano Wilhelmine Schröder-Devrient (1804-1860). After her death a volume entitled “Aus den Memoiren einer Saengerin”, purporting to be her erotic memoirs, was published in Germany in 1868.
This portfolio displays a suite of fourteen illustrations from a French edition of 1947. It is not clear who the illustrator might have been.
