Cuir & Peau by Rene Giffey

Cuir & Peau translates to ‘Leather & Skin’. This set of 21 illustrations is from 1934, and depicts fetish punishment with a great deal of torture and whipping, dominance and submission. This was highly desired material during the interwar years.

René Henri Giffey (1884-1965) was one of the most prolific and most talented French cartoon illustrators of the first half of the 20th Century, creating an incredible amount of commercial work over a 50 year career.
